LOOK. SEE. DRAW. [04.10.2017]
The world is a wondrous place if you take a moment to look around . . . In this 3 hour workshop Janet will be introducing you to the basics of drawing by helping you capture realistically what you see around you.
You don’t have to be a Picasso to be able to draw. You are invited to let go of all your preconceived ideas and fears around drawing. Get the hang of few basic techniques and put it into practice through a few engaging activities. Learn about line, tones and contrast, and how all the elements work together in a composition. Draw a still life, or your own hand. Look properly – observe! See how incredible everything around you is . . .
Perfect for beginners. Experienced artists also welcome.

Janet is a visual artist, graphic designer and editor of the eco art blog artlovenature.co.za. Her art-making involves her working just as much in the outdoors as in the studio: creating everything from land art, mud graffiti, photographs to finding material for new artworks. Her work is varied, explorative and intuitive, and primarily inspired by ecology, environment or our place within the web of life. With a qualification in Graphic Design (B-TECH: cum laude) from the Vaal University of Technology, Janet spent three years in the design industry before going freelance, creating art, having art exhibitions and participating in projects like the creation of the Snake Eagle Thinking Path in Matjiesfontein. In 2015 she created art in South Korea as part of the Global Nomadic Art Project, and in 2016 helped coordinate the South African leg of this project, themed “Stories of Rain”. Janet’s current focus is on facilitating creative workshops, using her creative skills to create awareness about environmental issues, and planning her third solo exhibition.
